Bryan Coquard did a hugely impressive sprint in today's stage of Paris-Nice but he had to settle for second behind Davide Cimolai.
"I am very, very, very disappointed," he told L'Equipe. "But I was not calm enough. I launched my sprint with 400 meters to go, a bit too far our. I saw Cimolai in my wheel in the last 150 meters, but I had no choice, I had to continue my sprint. I tried to accelerate but my sprint had already been going on for 250m. I wanted to win here, but three weeks agot I was at the Track Worlds and I have proved that I am good. For me, Paris-Nice is over this evening (the next two stages don't suit him, ed.) , but I will go to Catalonia (23-29 March). I think there will be stages for me."
