Bryan Coquard had made stage 13 of the Tour de France a big goal but he never featured in the finale and fell to the ground as soon as he had crossed the line.
"I suffered from a heatstroke," he said. "I felt really bad. I felt wrong for many kilometres. I tried to be their accelerate with 500m to go. With 450m to go, I already had to sit down. I was cooked. I couldn't see things clearly due to the heat. It was bad."
