Rui Costa's time in the world champion is about to come to an end. The Portuguese will have one final outing in the rainbow jersey on Wednesday in the Coppa Agostoni where he joins forces with Diego Ulissi who will return to competition in the three one-day races that make up the Trittico Lombardo race series.
Three months after the last competition in Italy (the national championships), Team Lampre-Merida will again race in its home country, taking part in the Trittico Lombardo race series.
The blue-fuchsia-green team will be at the start of Coppa Bernocchi (September 16), Coppa Agostoni (September 17) and Tre Valli Varesine (September 18) with the aim of extending the very good series of results that they have achieved in these three races: in 2013, Pozzato won the Coppa Agostoni and Durasek won the Tre Valli Varesine.
Sports director Daniele Righi will count on many top riders, such as Rui Costa who'll be at the start of Coppa Agostoni, Sacha Modolo (2 Coppa Bernocchi and 1 Coppa Agostoni on his palmares), Filippo Pozzato, Kristijan Durasek and Diego Ulissi.
