LAMPRE-MERIDA have never won the Clasica Ciclista San Sebastian and the team of manager Brent Copeland would like to paint the Basque race in blue-fuchsia-green in 2015.
On Saturday, sports director Mario Scirea will rely on an international selection of riders from 6 different countries (Belarus, Colombia, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain) and with two national champions (Portugal and Slovenia). The eight riders from Team LAMPRE-MERIDA will be Mario Costa, Rui Costa, Ilya Koshevoy, Nelson Oliveira, Luka Pibernik, Filippo Pozzato, Jose Serpa and Rafael Valls.
One of the most important news is that Rui Costa will make his comeback after his withdrawal from the Tour de France. He'll race the Clasica San Sebastian as a test in order to check his condition.
Oliveira, Pozzato, Serpa and Valls have just completed the Tour de France and they'll try to exploit the form they gained on the French roads. Koshevoy and Pibernik raced at altitude in the Tour of Qinghai Lake and they'll be good outsiders while Mario Costa will provide support.
