The organizers have announced the course for the 2015 Vuelta al Pais Vasco which will take place in early April. The race is set to follow a very traditional format with the queen stage to Arrate on the fourth day and a time trial on the final day.

The 2015 Vuelta al Pais Vasco will take place from April 6 to 11, will start in Bilbao and end with a time trial of 18.3km in Aia.

The organizers haver announced the starting and finishing cities for the six stages. The big news is that the race will start in Bilbao which will host both the start and finish of the first stage and the start of stage 2 that ends in Vitoria-Gasteiz, a regular site for stage finishes in the Basque race. Then a stage to Zumarraga follows before the riders tackle the traditional queen stage with the legendary finish at the top of Alto de Arrate in Eibar. The final two stages will be centered around Aia where the race - as usual - ends with a short and probably very hilly time trial.

Course

Stage 1: Bilbao - Bilbao
Stage 2: Bilbao - Vitoria
Stage 3: Vitoria-Gasteiz - Zumarraga

In 2014, Alberto Contador won the race ahead of Michal Kwiatkowski and Jean-Christophe Péraud and so repeated his wins from 2008 and 2009. Other recent winners include Nairo Quintana (2013), Samuel Sanchez (2012), Andreas Kloden (2011) and Chris Horner (2010).
