The 2013-14 season has so far been the best season in Leif Lampater’s career and that trend seems to continue in the last Six Days race of the season in Copenhagen.

Thus the German assumed the lead on the opening night together with his Danish partner Marc Hester. Fittingly it was Lampater who narrowly defeated Michael Mørkøv to claim victory in the final Madison of the night.

The German duo of Marcel Kalz and Robert Bartko is hot on their heels, though, as merely one point separates the two teams. Bartko, incidentally, is riding the final Six Days event of his career.

Earlier in the evening Bartko – Kalz showed that they meant business by winning the opening Madison which kicked off the race.

As could be expected the situation at the top of the classification remains wide open as four teams are on the same lap and thus in contention for the overall win.

Overall classification after day 1:

1 Marc Hester - Leif Lampater 55

2 Robert Bartko - Marcel Kalz 54
