Rubén Plaza and Pablo Lastras will continue wearing the Movistar Team jersey in 2014 after extending their respective contracts with Eusebio Unzué's squad. Both are key pieces of the team, shining not only by individual merits but most notably due to their quality work for the team's leaders.
Plaza will reach his 5th season in the Spanish team, and his 14th since taking the leap onto the pro scene in 2001. He's notched up 22 wins, the latter two in 2013 with the Queen stage and the GC of the Vuelta a Castilla y León, after a four-year streak without wins marked by his serious crash in the 2011 Vuelta a Murcia.
In turn, Lastras will stay for a 17th consecutive year within the ranks of the Blue team, having become a reference in and out of the races and having won stages in all three Grand Tours.
