After a 19th in today’s time trial, Lawson Craddock is now 12th overall as the tough mountain stage is coming up. Peter Sagan took the double by winning the stage and taking the lead in the General Classification.

For a long time it seemed to be Team LottoNL-Jumbo’s Jos van Emden who would take the victory in today’s time trial as it was Peter Sagan (Tinkoff-Saxo) to have different plans. He covered the course in an incredibly fast 12:31, being 15 seconds faster than van Emden to take his second stage win this week. In the GC, Sagan leads Skujins (Hincapie Racing Team) by 28 seconds.

Craddock finished 37 seconds behind Sagan in 19th, he is now 12th in the overall.

Coach Aike Visbeek said: “It was an important day for Lawson to secure a nice position in the GC ahead of tomorrow’s difficult stage. Lawson had most difficulties with the strong headwinds on the last section as it wasn’t an easy time trial course. Tomorrow will be the decisive stage for the GC as the final decision will be made on the Mt. Baldy.”
