In the same finish that decided the holder of the Italian champion's jersey, Rosa won the 2015 edition of the Milano-Torino.
After a long breakaway consisting of 5 riders which was controlled by the bunch, the race became lively in the approach to the Colle di Superga. A few hundred meters before the start of the climb, Lampre-Merida’s captain Valerio Conti crashed: despite the quick assistance from the team car and the support of stagiaire Filippo Ganna, the young Italian climber could not join the front of the race again
Without Conti and with Koshevoy not having the best feelings, the blue-fuchsia-green team could not obtain a better place than the 60th position of Matteo Bono (+5’29”).
Three other riders from the team completed the race, namely Koshevoy, Feng and Xu.
“We can’t be happy, because we did not achieve even a fairly good result,” sports director MarcoMarzano explained. “The riders of the team whose qualities were suitable for the final circuit were Koshevoy and Conti: Ilia was not at the top, while Conti crashed and he could not react“.
