CULT Energy Pro Cycling do not stop recruiting. After the Germans Linus Gerdemann and Fabian Wegmann or the Danish Rasmus Quaade and the British Russell Downing, an Olympic medalist joined the Danish team who is ambitious to join the Pro Continental level : Gustav Larsson.
The Swedish, who won the national time trial title six times, was IAM Cycling rider since last year. "It’s fantastic with yet another rider who will help setting the bar high for the team’s ambitions. He fits well into the profile we are trying to create as a team. We expect Gustav Larsson to compete for several wins in the year to come”, the sporting director Michael Skelde told in an official press release.
Aged 34 years old, Larsson won the silver medal on the time trial in the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and a stage of the Giro in 2010, but his 2014 season marked by a severe drop in June.
“For myself I started 2014 with some good races and results. Then I had a serious crash where I broke four vertebrae. I am really motivated to get back racing as competitive as possible, because racing my bike is what I love to do! I am also happy to see some old teammates already in the team. I think 2015 might well bring some surprises, so keep an eye on us next year.” Gustav Larsson adds.
