On Wednesday, CULT Energy Pro Cycling will join the biggest sprinters in the peloton for the penultimate race in their Flemish race campaign in Scheldeprijs starting in Antwerp and bringing the peloton to the finish line in Schoten.
Traditionally, it’s a treat for the big sprinters. In the final three editions of the race, Marcel Kittel has eventually conquered the top spot of the podium but many of the recognisable sprinters like Mark Cavendish, Tom Boonen, Erik Zabel and Mario Cippolini have nailed the prize as well over the years. However, the weather this time of year is unpredictable and capricious and may influence the events significantly.
CULT Energy Pro Cycling DS Michael Skelde says:
“Scheldeprijs is the penultimate race in the series of Flemish spring races on our part. It’s usually set for a sprinter battle if not the weather conditions decide something else. I reckon the race is a big challenge for Michael Carbel who’s here to do the expected sprinter finale for us. For Carbel this race is by far the greatest sprinter challenge yet. I’m looking forward to taking our support for him to the limit in a race against some of the best sprinter teams out there.”
The CULT Energy Pro Cycling line-up for Scheldeprijs: Michael Carbel, Martin Mortensen, Mads Pedersen, Karel Hnik, Alex Kirsch, Joel Zangerle and Rasmus Quaade.
