On Wednesday CULT Energy Pro Cycling take on the 197.7 kilometer Belgium one-day race Nokere Koerse with a slight uphill finish on Nokereberg. The hilly race has been on the calendar since 1944 and the local Belgian riders have claimed the victory on most occasions.
Cult Energy Pro Cycling will be on the startline with this line-up: Michael Carbel, Russell Downing, Michael Reihs, Rasmus Guldhammer, Troels Vinther, Rasmus Quaade, Mads Pedersen and Alex Kirsch.
DS Luke Roberts says:
"Nokere Koerse is known for a furious pace with wide roads and only a few cobblestone sectors. I believe that last year's race was done with an average speed of 46kph so I expect a bunch sprint where the local teams are eager to show their colors from the get-go. Yesterday, the boys demonstrated that they actually can be one of the fastest units in the peloton and I'm hoping for a result hopefully on the podium."
