Having broken his elbow in the Tour of Belgium, Stephen Cummings marked his return to form when he finished third in today's Tour de Pologne time trial. Despite regretting the near-miss, the Brit was pleased to be back at the pointy end of the races.

Dominik Nerz finished ninth overall for the BMC Racing Team Saturday at the Tour de Pologne as teammates Stephen Cummings and Steve Morabito finished third and fourth overall, respectively, in the final stage individual time trial. 

Cummings was 10 seconds behind stage winner Kristof Vandewalle (Trek Factory Racing) and three seconds back of runner-up Adriano Malori (Movistar Team) in the 25-kilometer race against the clock.

"I wanted to win, but it was nice to get back amongst it," Cummings said. "It was a really hard course. It was rolling and you had to be on the gas the whole time. There weren't too many places to rest."

Cummings won the Tour Méditerranéen this spring but fractured his left elbow in a crash on the opening stage of the Baloise Belgium Tour in late May. Morabito's result was his best in a time trial this season and second-best of the season after a third place finish at the Swiss national road race.

Rafal Majka (Tinkoff-Saxo) won the race overall ahead of Movistar teammates Ion Izagirre and Beñat Intxausti. Nerz finished 1:42 back and notched his best result of the season.

"Dominik was strong on the mountain stages and was really great today," Baldato said.  "We came here to get a top 10 result, so we completed our goal. We also have riders coming out of this race in good condition as they go to the Vuelta a España."
