Damiano Cunego (Nippo) confirmed his good condition when he attacked the favourites in today's stage of the Giro d'Italia before finishing the stage in 9th.
"The entire team did a good race," sports director Stefano Giuliani said. "We worked to bring the attackers back and as Damiano was feelin good, he demonstrated all his talent by trying to anticipate the final sprint with a great attack. At first no one responded, and if Aru had been waiting a few seconds to attack Contador and Porte, it could have ended differently."
