According to Het Nieuwsblad, cyclocross World Cup will include races in Germany and Italy in the 2016-2017 season. Last season the number of World Cup races was reduced to six and it was seven one year earlier. The number of rounds for next year is unknown.
The World Cup has a relatively short history as the first edition was held in the winter of 1993-1994. Since then, the series has visited Italy fifteen times Italy (Azzana Decimo, Variano di Basiliano, Prato di Pordenone, Solbiate Olona, Bergamo, Monopoli, Turin, Milan (4x), Treviso (2x) and Rome (2x)), and it was only visited Germany twice (Frankfurt in 2002 and St. Wendel in 2003).
Reports claim that Bremen will be on the calendar next year while the Italian host is unknown. The UCI will announce the calendar in a few weeks.
