Jasper De Buyst and Leif Lampater maintained their lead on the second night of the 73rd edition of the Gent Six Days. The Belgian/German duo has amassed 168 points and leads Iljo Keisse and Dutchman Wim Stroetinga by 26 points. Kenny De Ketele and Gijs Van Hoecke are further 16 points adrift.

These three teams are all at the same lap, but French world Madison champions Morgan Kneisky and Vivien Brisse are just nine points away from reaching 100 points and thus gaining a bonus lap.

Following their severe crashes on the opening night, both Luke Roberts and Martyn Irvine were neutralised all through Wednesday and their partners, Franco Marvulli and Marc Hester, will make up a new team starting on Thursday. Luke Roberts has sustained a fractured collar bone and a fractured femur. Roberts had planned to forgo the national road championships in his native Australia in order to concentrate on the track season but that plan seems destined not to materialize.
