The racing schedule of Thomas Dekker has been finally outlined, with the Tirreno-Adriatico, Ardennes classics and the Giro d’Italia being the well defined targets for the first half of the 2014 season for the Dutchman riding in the Garmin-Sharp outfit.

 

Following the Tirreno-Adriatico, held this season between 12 and 18th March, the 29-year old Dutchman will ride the Circuit Cycliste Sarthe - Pays de la Loire, all three Ardennes classics: Amstel Gold Race, Fleche Wallonne and Liege-Bastogne-Liege to conclude first part of the year with a participation in the Giro d’Italia.

 

Dekker, the former Tirreno-Adriatico and Tour de Romandie champion and s stage winner at Tirreno, Tour de Pologne and Tour de Swisse, is still looking to refer anyhow to his results achieved before the two-year period of suspension he served from 2009 to 20011, still without visible progression on that matter.

 

The 29-year old Germin-Sharp rider has participated so far in two events this year: the Santos Tour Down Under and Jayco Herald Sun Tour during his sting in Australia, finished 76th and 53rd in general classifications respectively, with 30th place in the prologue of the latter being his best result snatched in 2014.
