Arnaud Démare has reacted to accusations that he hung onto his car onthe climb of Cipressa at Milan-San Remo. In an interview with L'Équipe, he tells his story. "I have nothing to reproach myself," says the FDJ sprinter.

Eros Capecchi and Matteo Tosatto have claimed that Demare made use of his car to rejoin the peloton after a late crash. Previously, his team manager Frédéric Guesdon denied the claims and now Demare does so himself. "I have nothing to blame myself. I've done nothing wrong. There are commissaires in cycling. If I had done something wrong, I would have been disqualified," he says. 

Along with Michael Matthews who was also involved in the same crash, the FDJ leader managed to rejoin the pack. "We climbed between the cars. That's part of the sport, and it has always been likethat: we follow the slipstream of the cars. It keeps you out the wind and is not forbidden," says Demare who has also posted his data fromthe race on the Internet.
