As it was announced today on USA Pro Challenge official website, Denver has been chosen to host the finish of the ultimate stage of the competition taking place in Colorado, decided by the votes of cycling fans.

The ultimate stage of USA Pro Challenge 4th edition will once again finish in Denver, like it happened on each of previous occasions. This time the decision was made by the popular vote of cycling fans, who were asked how the outline of the race’s final day should present, after the host cities of the preceding six stages were announced by the organizers in the beginning of November.

“Cycling fans are so passionate and such an important part of the sport, so we decided to give them a voice in the route selection process,” said Shawn Hunter, CEO of the USA Pro Challenge

“We wanted to try something new this year and by incorporating fan feedback we have come up with what is going to be incredible final day of racing.”

The final stage of the 2014 USA Pro Challenge will run from Boulder through Golden, which saw record crowds as a start city in 2012, and finish with three laps around the State’s Capital, which has served as the finish location every year of the race, and where Daniel Oss, Taylor Phinney and Peter Sagan respectively celebrated their stage victories. The day also incorporates an incredibly challenging and fan-favorite climb on Lookout Mountain.

“The 2014 USA Pro Challenge is going to be the most exciting year yet,” said Rick Schaden, owner of the USA Pro Challenge

“Boulder, Golden and Denver have been such great hosts over the history of the race, so we decided to work them all into the final day of competition. These three iconic Colorado cucling locations are going to create one grand finale,” he said on the official website of the event

The USA Pro Challenge, rightfully considered one of the major races of UCI calendar held in United States, is always an important target of the American-based teams, thus there is no surprise that previous editions were won by Levi Leipheimer (RadioShack), Christian Vande Velde (Garmin-Sharp) and Tejay van Garderen (BMC) respectively.

The USA Pro Challenge will happen August 18-24. The race's complete itinerary is below. Route details will be revealed in the spring of 2014.
