The former Astana and Cofidis rider Remy Di Gregorio saw himself being a part of the front in the Tour de l’Ain on the queen stage of the race. Bert-Jan Lindeman won the stage ahead of Romain Bardet and Dan Martin. Di Gregorio made a strong top five appearance after Jean-Christophe Peraud, who finished fourth.

Remy Di Gregorio continues the good season he has had so far. After his two-year ban from the sport, he has been with the La Pomme Marseille team. With them he has won the Tour de Taiwan and the KOM competition in home soil race Tour Alsace.

He describes the stage as being tough due to the bad weather. His favourite weather is for sure not rain and cold temperatures.  

“It was hard with rain and only ten degrees. The weather conditions made the race more difficult. I prefer good weather but I can adapt. It would have been much nicer with sun. It’s a great race and I was able to follow the best. It’s not so bad and I felt good. Romain Bardet is doing really strong. Before Bardet’s move Jean-Christophe Peraud made a good job downsizing the peloton. I’m glad with my spot in the GC. We’ll see about the stage tomorrow, but I think the GC is set for the race,” Di Gregorio said to DirectVelo.
