Direct Energie will go into the Tour de France with four leaders. Bryan Coquard will go for stage wins in the sprints, Romain Sicard will focus on the GC and Sylvain Chavanel and Thomas Voeckler will look for victories from breakaways.
Two weeks ago Direct Energie manager Jean-Rene Bernaudeau selected four leaders for the Tour de France, Bryan Coquard, Thomas Voeckler, Sylvain Chavanel and Romain Sicard, and announced a list of 8 riders who were in contention for the final three spots. Today he has finalized his selection.
The team will go into the race with three goals. An in-form Bryan Coquard who recently won two stages will be the protected sprinter, and his ambitions have been fully supported in the selection of the final five riders. Trusted lead-out man Adrien Petit and fast riders Yoann Gene and Angelo Tulik will all be present at the Grand Depart and will form a strong lead-out train for the sprint talent.
Romain Sicard will be the GC rider in the team and he will supported by Fabrice Jeandesboz in the mountains as the climber has also got the nod.
The team's third goal is to win stages from breakaway with veterans Thomas Voeckler and Sylvain Chavanel.
Antoine Duchesne got the final spot in the team and the strong Canadian will both be able to contribute to the lead-out and go on the attack in lumpy stages.
From the 12-rider list, Perrig Quemeneur, Bryan Naulleau and Tony Hurel missed out on selection.
