After a few years at the continental level, Russell Downing will be back among the professionals. The Brit has signed a one-year contract with CULT which will be riding as a second-tier team in 2015.

CULT Energy Pro Cycling has announced that the British rider Russell Downing has signed a one-year contract with the team. Downing will be the fifth rider to officially join the team.

“Russell is an amazing rider with great talent," sports director Michael Skelde said. "He has great experience both at continental level but also at Pro tour level which He gained at Team Sky in 2010-2011. Russell is ready to step up the game together with CULT Energy Pro Cycling in the major UK races in 2015."

“I’m delighted to be returning to pro continental racing with Cult Energy Pro Cycling for 2015," Downing said. "The team looks very exciting with a great mix of young and experienced riders. I’m looking forward to joining the squad next year."
