It seemed that a training crash would bury all chances on a successful Hour Record breaking attempt for Alex Dowsett, but British time trial specialist refuses to give up on a fight.
Despite a serious blow he has recently suffered, Dowsett managed to keep his spirit high and typically for him, posted an ironic comment about his upcoming surgery on Thursday.
„Op is going to take an hour apparently, irony at its best,” Movistar rider tweeted.
According to Sky Sports, the 26-year old Briton underwent a successful surgery on his broken collarbone last Thursday. In an official statement from his management company promised to fight to make his planned Hour Record attempt, initially scheduled for February 27, possible.
"It will be a battle to do the hour attempt. I have faced battles my whole life with the haemophilia and now I face another challenge," Dowsett said, according to Sky Sports.
"I will certainly give it my best shot. The support from the public has been amazing and I would like to thank everyone."
Dowsett is scheduled to attempt to break the hour record on the first day of round five of the Revolution Series at the Lee Valley VeloPark.
