According to their official website and social media, Australian-based Drapac Professional Cycling team managed to attract new sponsors that should support their development as a Professional Continental level team in 2014 season.
Originating from Melbourne, Australia and openly aiming to become “Asia’s most dominant cycling team”, Drapac Professional Cycling team has been handed the UCI Pro Continental license for the first time ahead of 2014 season, what forced the team to attract new sponsors and component suppliers on their way to further development.
On board with the team on its new era as a UCI Professional Continental outfit will be Bont Cycling, le coq sportif Oceania, Next, Speedplay, Training Peaks and WD-40 Bike.
Drapac has already announced that bike manufacturer SwiftCarbon and SRAM have joined the team while Kask helmets, Champion System clothing, Shotz Sports Nutrition, Arundel, and Salice eyewear continue their support. This way, the team will be on the new bikes, pedals and shoes for 2014.
Charles Hurtebize, Brand Manager of le coq sportif Australia said that the arrangement with Drapac was a natural fit.
"le coq sportif Oceania is excited to be sponsoring the Drapac Professional Cycling team in 2014 to provide team uniform," Hurtebize said.
"le coq sportif has a long heritage as a sports specialist, so we are proud to be involved with an organisation like Drapac."
Drapac Professional Cycling team will make their debut as a Pro Continental Team at Santos Tour Down Under, held in Australia in late January, while they are preparing to their greatest season to date on a training camp.
