BMC Racing Team's Jempy Drucker finished fourth as Peter Sagan (Tinkoff-Saxo) won his second stage of the Tour de Suisse Thursday.

Drucker was fifth and on the wheel of Alexander Kristoff (Katusha Team) – the winner of 17 races this season – entering a 90-degree turn on damp pavement with 200 meters to go in the 193.1-kilometer race.

"We knew it was pretty tricky so it was important to be in a good position there," Drucker said. "I was on Sagan's wheel. But in the corners, he was just too fast and I lost him a bit. Then, in the final corner, I was on Kristoff's wheel, which was not so bad. I tried to get over him but I couldn't.

"Overall, I felt pretty good today. With the rain, it is better for me than the heat. There was also less climbing. I knew this was maybe the only chance I would have, so I tried to do my best."

Jürgen Roelandts (Lotto-Soudal) was runner-up to Sagan while Kristoff was third. Drucker's fourth place was his 12th top 10 result on the season.

BMC Racing Team Sport Director Fabio Baldato said three riders (Silvan Dillier, Greg Van Avermaet and Danilo Wyss) did a good job of helping get Drucker into position.

"It was not easy today, it was a chaotic final," Baldato said. "Our goal was to bring Jempy to the corner in the front. We were confident in him because he is a good bike handler and in a short sprint like today, he is explosive. He was there with the big sprinters. So we are satisfied with a top five result."

Thibaut Pinot (FDJ) kept the lead as the overall standings remained unchanged with three days of the race to go. Ben Hermans is the BMC Racing Team's best-placed rider in 17th place, 4:27 behind.
