Nothing is decided yet when it comes to Fabio Duarte's future. After his Colombia team has folded, the former U23 world champion is looking for a new team.
A few days ago, it was reported that Duarte would return to Colombian with the continental EPM-UNE team, Colombian media now report that he has agreed on a contract with a top team from Europe.
Already last year, Duarte was close to joining the WorldTour but decided to stay loyal to Colombia. However, he had a disappointing season and never returned to the level that saw him get close to stage wins in the 2013 and 2014 editions of the Giro.
Duarte has been riding for Colombian teams for most of his career but had a brief stint in Europe with Geox in 2011. That year he won a stage of the Giro del Trentino. He also has the 2012 Coppa Sabatini and a stage win at the 2010 Vuelta a Asturias on his palmares after he became U23 world champion in 2008.
