Yesterday, Samuel Dumoulin (AG2R) won the Grand Prix de Plumelec in a sprint decision.
He outsprinted Anthony Geslin (FDJ) and Julien Simon (Sojasun). It’s the first victory of the “Savoyard” rider in this race which he had already finished 2nd and 3rd. The AG2R LA MONDIALE team gets its 5th win this season and hopes to double this victory tomorrow [Sunday] on the Boucles de l’Aulne.
Samuel Dumoulin said: "I'm really very happy to win and I was even moved by this victory at the finish line. The current situation of the team is not easy and I was also frustrated by my lack of victories these last months. The team did a great race and everyone has done his part of work. We were well grouped together in the final and we were collectively strong. The timing of this victory is good. Tomorrow we will again apply to following the instructions and if a sprint occurs again, why not …”
