The financial feud between Tour de France organizers ASO and the Dutch Cycling Federation KNWU could be costly for the Dutch province of Limburg. ASO has decided no longer to work with the province about a possible Tour stage in the region.
The large bill (140,000 euros) that the Dutch Cycling Federation asks the Tour organizers to pay for the Grand Depart in Utrecht could cost Limburg dearly.
Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme has told Radio Limburg 1 (L1) that ASO will no longer work with Limburg which has tried to attract the race to the province. Tom Dumoulin - Limburg's best rider - is disappointed.
"Damn, what a farce. It sucks," the Dutch rider tweeted.
