The 20th stage of the Giro d'Italia, with the ascent of the mythical Col Delle Finestre, was marked by a breakaway which contained Julien Bérard for Ag2r.
In the end, Hubrt Dupont was best for the French team in 27th as he rode in support of team leader Carlos Betancur who had a tough day and was 31st.
"Julien was present in the break but they were caught at the foot of this terrible climb that ends on a dirt road," sports director Laurent Biondi said. "For the third straight day, Hubert Dupont rode strongly to allow Carlos (Betancur) to maintain his 20th place overall. Hubert has done a great job."
