The Dutch Lotto, De Lotto, wants to eventually exercise more trust in the new project of the combined cycling and skating team. This is what marketing director of De Lotto, Arno de Jong, told Dutch website NOS recently.
De Lotto is one of the title sponsors of the unique project for the coming years. "Basically, we are sponsors for four years. After two years, we evaluate," said de Jong. "We focus in the first year all on cycling and skaters. If it works, if the model works, the synergy, the experience and the knowledge, I do not rule out that there are more sports we could add in time. Athletics? This is a possibility. But the important thing now is that we focus on cycling and skaters. So we want to be successful in those first four years," he explains.
De Lotto has not yet disclosed how much they will give to the team’s budget each year. According to the NOS, De Lotto will give five million Euros each year, the largest amount, while Jumbo (over three million) and Brand Loyalty (two million), gives the team a solid budget from which they can operate successfully.
