The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Unipublic have reached an agreement to broadcast La Vuelta up to 2020.
Offering the broadcasting rights to the largest number of broadcasters is the goal shared by the EBU and Unipublic.
The terrestrial networks of Belgium (VRT), the Netherlands (NOS), Norway (TV2), Denmark (TV2), the United Kingdom (ITV) among others and Eurosport covering 54 countries, will enable millions of fans to follow the exploits of champions competing in one of the major Tours in the cycling calendar.
Produced and broadcast by TVE in Spain, La Vuelta will also enjoy media coverage on digital channels, as the event will also be broadcast on all the digital platforms run by the above partners (internet sites, social networks, and mobile applications).
"The EBU is delighted to prolong its long-standing partnership with Unipublic and to provide extensive coverage of La Vuelta, through its Members and Eurosport, in countries throughout Europe. The public's growing enthusiasm for cycling is further support for the EBU's mission to offer major sports events together with a variety of Olympic sports to the broadest possible audience," declared Stefan Kürten, EBU Director of Sport & Business.
"The EBU is already partner of the Tour de France and others major cycling events. Through this agreement La Vuelta will be guaranteed maximum exposure over the next few years, reaching a growing number of Europe cycling fans, both on the major general-interest channels and on Eurosport," stated Yann Le Moenner, Chief Executive Officer of Unipublic.”
