Since joining the team in 2013, Paul Voss has been among the top performers of Bora-Argon 18 – also in the 2016 season. The 30-year-old proved his strength several times – most notably when he won the inaugural edition of the one-day race Rad am Ring (1.1) on the Nürburgring at the end of July.

"My balance is positive. I've developed a bit more," Voss told radsport-news.com. In addition to the coup in his home country where he rode alone for 70km, his performance in the Tour de France where he spent one day in the mountains jersey, was a highlight. And already in the season opener at the Mallorca Challenge, Voss was ninth in the Trofeo Serra Tramuntana. "But to have been in the finale of Milan-Sanremo was also a highlight for me," said Voss who was 23rd in the first monument.

On the other hand, it was a big disappointment to the Olympic Games in Rio as Voss was only selected as a reserve by the Bund Deutscher Radfahrer (BDR). However, the loss of an Olympic ticket now seems less important as Voss later learned from manager Ralph Denk that there is no room for him in the team for 2017. And despite a long search, the all-rounder has still has no new employer. "I'm still talking with two teams," says Voss who does not yet have a plan B.

"But that is also somehow liberating. If it does not work with a team, I want everything to be open and not make the mistake of making a decision about my future professional career too quickly. Nevertheless, I hope, of course, to be able to continue because I am not done yet," Voss added.
