The 2013 edition of the Tour de Luxembourg got under way today with a 2.5km prologue.
True to tradition the short parcours through the city of Luxembourg included a short steep cobblestone climb. Also true to tradition Jimmy Engoulvent (Sojasun) claimed the win and the overall lead. Engoulvent won the prologue on the exact same route in 2007, 2010 and 2012 while he finished 3rd in 2011.
Completing the 2.5km in 3:42 the French veteran lived up to expectations while seeing off the challenges of Dutch rider Danny van Poppel (Vacansoleil-DCM) and his compatriot Jonathan Hivert (Sojasun).
