Estonian champion Alo Jakin (Auber 93) got close to a big breakthrough victory when he finished third in the GP de la Somme.
"It was a very difficult day," he told Directvelo. "Fortunately, I got back to the race lead with Quentin Jauregui. I managed to be there when we were eight in the lead. Anthony Delaplace attacked on a climb. I followed. Quentin Jauregui returned to Delaplace and me. In the last 500 meters, Jauregui did not work. He was strong. Today, the guy who won was clearly the stronget.
"I'm happy with my place third. This is my first result of the season. I just got back after ten days in Estonia where I could rest. This is a good result for the team and for me. This place gives me great confidence for the future."
