Tsgabu Grmay proved again to be competitive at the top level in Tour Down Under queen stage with a summit finish on Willunga Hill.
The Ethiopian champion repeated the impressive performance he had done in the 3rd stage, obtaining 14th place at 38" of winner Porte.
Thanks to this result, Grmay climbed one position in the overall classification and so he's 13th at 1' of the leader Dennis, the same gap as Michael Rogers.
The African rider is 5th in the young riders standing but it won't be simple to change the situation of the overall classification in the last flat stage in Adelaide.
Brent Copeland, team manager from LAMPRE-MERIDA, enjoyed his team's performances from Europe: " We are all obviously very happy to see a new rider in pink like Grmay be so competitive in a WorldTour race. The riders who animated the most demanding stages of the Tour Down Under are all top-level athletes but Grmay was able to challenge them even though he prefers the longer climbs than the one in Australia.
"We have to consider that Grmay is young, just 23 years old, and still has room for improvement. The teammates did a great job for him, putting him in the ideal position to tackle the climbs."
