Team NetApp-Endura proved themselves fully worthy of their Tour de France invitations when they put in two impressive performances in the only time trial. While specialist Jan Barta finished on the podium in theird, Leopold König rode the time trial of his life to finish 5th and move into 7th in the overall standings.

On the penultimate day of the 101st Tour de France there was an individual time trial over 54 kilometers. Team NetApp – Endura met this challenge in a superior way. Jan Barta underlined his time trial skills, taking third place just 1 minute and 47 seconds behind the day's winner, Tony Martin (Omega Pharma – Quick Step). Leopold König rode an outstanding time trial to come fifth, making up another two places in the general classification, in which he now holds 7th place. Vincenzo Nibali confidently defended his yellow jersey before the final stage, in which there are traditionally no further attacks on the leader.

"Jan has been looking forward to this time trial for weeks. He scored a top result in every time trial this year and that was also one reason for considering him in our Tour de France squad. Today he proved that he can hold his own even at the front of a world-class field. It's a great result – pure top class," says Enrico Poitschke, Sport Director of Team NetApp – Endura, commenting on Jan Barta's result.

"Leo's time trial was perfect. He maintained a good rhythm from start to finish – there wasn't a single mistake. He exceeded our expectations with his fifth place, because we rather fancied a top-ten finish. The fact that he's going so well underlines the class that he has, and his seventh place in the general classification is simply fantastic," says Poitschke, talking about König's final result.

At the conclusion of the Tour de France on Sunday, the riders can first take things easy on the 137 kilometer stage from Evry to the Champs-Elysées, before they ride eight laps on Paris's most famous boulevard and the day's result is decided as expected in a mass sprint.
