FDJ only have four riders left in the Vuelta a Espana but the team still show a combative attitude. Yesterday Johan Le Bon attacked in the finale while Geoffrey Soupe sprinted to 7th.

FDJ started the Vueltaa Espana on a high as Nacer Bouhanni won two stages in the first week of the race. Since then, things have turned sour for the French team that is down to just 4 riders.

Nonetheless, the team has managed to remain in the spotlights with aggressive riders by Johan Le Bon. Yesterday the Frenchman was again on the attack before Bouhanni's lead-out man Geoffrey Soupe finished 7th in the sprint.

"I told them jokingly that we could do the briefing in the car", said sports director Franck Pineau. "But I see that the guys really want to finish the Vuelta on a good note.

"They are only four but we see more from FDJ than from other teams that still have 9 riders. Once again, Johan who works very hard, attacked in the finale and even though Giant-Shimano team rode all day to set their sprinter John Degenkolb up for victory and left him no chance, it reflects a great attitude. 

"Geoffrey Soupe told us that he would contest the sprint and took a good seventh place which is not easy to do. Laurent (Mangel) and Cedric (Pineau) are equally motivated and I know they will all try to go in the breakaways before the end of the Vuelta."
