The last two stages of the Ruta del Sol, won Saturday by Froome (Team Sky) who is also the overall winner, and Sunday by Lobato (Movistar) did not change anything for the FDJ team that has worked well in the high-level race that was dominated by Tinkoff-Saxo, Movistar and Sky.
"With two mountain stages, we knew that we would have a hard time getting involved in the race," FDJ sports director Franck Pineau said. "The crash made it harder as we lost two riders Kenny Elissonde complained about knee pain. My riders did not lose sight of their original goal which was to work, to make efforts in preparation of Paris-Nice. From this point of view, we did well."
Arthur Vichot and his tammates still have a few days to make the final adjustments before their first big goal at the Race to the Sun.
