The first stage of the Tour du Limousin served as a warm-up for the riders of the FDJ team. For many, it is a return to competition in this beautiful French stage race. Italian Sonny Colbrelli (Bardiani-CF) won the sprint but Yvon Madiot's riders have shown they are ready to fight.
There was a breakaway of three riders, Bonnafond (Ag2r-La Mondiale), Levarlet (Auber 93) and Cecchinel (Southeast), later joined by Edet (Cofidis). The work of CCC-Sprandi and Movistar has gave then no chance.
"At 35 kilometers to go, we regrouped in the bunch with Anthony Geslin.E rode with Arthur Vichot, Arnold Jeannesson and Jérémy Roy who followed the attacks on the last climbs. In the last 25 kilometers, on narrow and treacherous roads, we have positioned ourselves to not be trapped and the riders were involved in the race," Madiot sai.
Nothing could stop a sprint win for Colbrelli. Anthony Roux (12th) has not really participated as it was rather nervous.
