According to Ouest France, Cadel Evans’ most loyal lieutenant Steve Morabito will depart from BMC Racing as his Australian leader hangs up his wheels, and will join FDJ on a 2-year deal.
Reportedly Morabito signed a contract through 2016 and his role won’t change significantly after moving to the French squad as he will be responsible for supporting their rising star Thibaut Pinot in Grand Tour events.
The 31-year old Swiss domestique started his professional career with Phonak in 2006. Then he rode for Astana for three seasons before joining his current outfit, BMC, for 2010.
