Like most other teams, FDJ had several riders on the tarmac in yesterday's first stage of the Tour de Pologne. Luckily, none of their riders suffered major injuries and the team is pleased that GC rider Alexandre Geniez lost no time in the overall standings.

FDJ have arrived at the Tour de Pologne with the intention to contest the GC with Alexandre Geniez. However, yesterday's opening stage proved to be a testing affair for all the overall candidates as several crashes caused riders to lose time.

FDJ were not spared anything as Laurent Mangel, Geniez, Johan Le Bon, Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier and Jussi Veikkanen all hit the deck. Luckily the consquences were not severe.

"Johan complains about pain in his ribs and head," sports director Franck Pineau said. "The others have nothing serious and the most important for the remainder of the race is that our leader Alexandre Géniez has crossed the finish line with thefirst group."
