Yesterday Marc Madiot unveiled an almost entirely French FDJ team in Paris. The manager believes in his chances of winning the Tour de France in the medium term and will count on his captainsThibaut Pinot and Arnaud Démare.
The FDJ team unveiled its team for the 2015 season yesterday in Paris and presented its medium-term ambitions: to win the Tour de France. "2014 was a continuation of what was expected. Year after year, we try to construct the building. We were lucky to find talented young riders, time has allowed them to assert themselves and the team has grown," said the head of the French team Marc Madiot who is proud of the success from last year (28 wins).
Madiot counts on his leaders Thibaut Pinot, best young and third in the Tour, and French champion Arnaud Démare to continue the progress of the team that has been in the peloton since 1997.
"For reasons you all know (doping, ed.) the Tour has been unreachable for years. Now we have the potential. This can be done in four to five years if we continue to progress and if fate is in our favor," said Madiot.
Madiot, which has expanded the staff of (three) coaches under the direction of Frédéric Grappe, emphasized the French identity of his roster "25 riders out of 29 are French and 17 of them have turned pro at FDJ."
