It was a ainy day at Gran Piemonte, a race organized by RCS that was back in the calendar after a 2-year absence and won by Belgian Jan Bakelants with a solo move that surprised the peloton.
In a really fast race Team Southeast was protagonist in the chase of the breakaway and then in the final sprint that saw Andrea Fedi taking a good 9th place, a result that is important for the Coppa Italia where the silvered shirts are still in the lead.
The next race on the Italian roads will be Il Lombardia.
“Bakelants was great. We aimed to bring Belletti in a good position for the sprint but the finish was really dangerous and we were a little bit lost. The 9th place is okay but with this form I expect better results," Fedi said.
