The Colombian Cycling Federation has announced the nine-rider team which will represent Colombia at the 2016 UCI Road World Championships in Doha, Qatar, 9-16 October.
Fernando Gaviria (Etixx-Quick Step) will lead this selection in the elite men's road race. The sprinter will end his first season in the pro peloton by going for thr rainbow jersey. This year, he has won three WorldTour races (two stages in the Tour of Poland and one stage in Tirreno-Adriatico) and placed 6th at Gent-Wevelgem.
Rigoberto Uran (Cannondale-Drapac Cycling Team) and Esteban Chaves (Orica BikeExchange) have also been included in the nine-man squad for the race, which takes place on a completely flat parcours in Qatar.
