Having spent two winless seasons with the team, Roberto Ferrari is still hopeful that he will be able to sign a contract extension with the Italian team. The sprinter is awaiting news from the team management while he prepares himself to ride the Tour of Hainan in China.

Roberto Ferrari finds himself among the riders with an uncertain future. The Italian is out of contract at the end of the year and is awaiting news from his Lampre-Merida team. At the start of the 2014 GP Beghelli last Sunday, he told Spaziociclismo that he hopes to stay with the team for which he has been riding in 2013 and 2014. Even though there is nothing official yet, Ferrari is hopeful that he will be able to extend his contract.

During the two years in the jersey, Ferrari has taken numerous places of honours but he has been unable to take a win. However, his 2014 season is not over yet as he will be at the start of the Tour of Hainan. A win in the Chinese race may bode well for his prospects of continuing his career at the Italian team where he has been the second sprinter behind Sacha Modolo.
