After the national championships last weekend, the cyclo-cross world is preparing for the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships later this month in Zolder. France, Switzerland, Great Britain and the United States have announced their selections.
John Gadret and Jonathan Page will not be there. The French star and the American 2007 silver medallist did not get a spot. Velo-Club gives no reason for Gadret's absence while Cyclingnews reports that Page didn't have time and money because of health problems. Moreover, his wife is expecting their fourth child soon.
Gadret and Page did there best race in Hooglede-Gits (Belgium, 2007). The Frenchman finished eighth while Page was only beaten by winner Erwin Vervecken only in the last hundred meters after an unpredictable race.
