The waiting time is finally over! The Giro d'Italia will kick off with a team time trial in Belfast and after three opening days on the Green Island, it will return to its native Italy where it reaches its crescendo with a brutal final week. During the 21 stages, the riders will tackle two individual time trials and 9 uphill finishes while the sprinters have as much as eight potential opportunities. The race is set to be a true spectacle and the rider who steps onto the top step of the podium on July 1 in Trieste, will fully have deserved his title.
Starting at 18.35 CEST you can follow the opening team time trial here.
