Based on the growing interest for the sport of cycling, a new 1.1 race in the central London, the RideLondon Classic, holds its inaugural edition today. A strong line-up of sprinters are ready to tackle a route that takes the riders into the hilly terrain which was central in last year's Olympic road race before they enter the British capital for a spectacular finish on The Mall. Starting at 15.30 you can follow the action on CyclingQuotes.com/live.
The big British sprinter Mark Cavendish may be riding the final stage of the Tour of Denmark today but that has not prevented the organizers from presenting a very strong line-up for the race. Peter Sagan, Ben Swift, Chris Sutton, Matthew Goss, Tom Van Asbroeck, Jetse Bol, Gerald Ciolek, Arnaud Demare, Jonathan McEvoy, Scott Thwaites, Raymond Kreder, Romain Feillu, Danny Van Poppel, Ramon SInkeldam, Sacha Modolo and Yannick Martinez are just some of the riders that could contest the expected mass sprint later today. To get there, they have to survive three passages of Leith Hill and one ascent of Box Hill which was the main challenge in the Olympic road race.
Starting at 15.30 you can follow the race here.
