Pablo Urtasun will contribute with his experience to Funvic Soul Cycles Carrefour next season. The Brazilian team has moved up to professional continental level.

According to Spanish website Biciciclismo, the team manager Benedito Tadeu Azevedo Junior has signed Urtasun who rode for Euskaltel-Euskadi between 2009 and 2013 and this year has raced in Japan. His idea is to use the Spaniard's experience in sprint finishes and use him as a mentor for the young Brazilian talents.

The signing of Urtasun (1980) means that the Basque will return to Europe after a year in Japan where he returned to competition and found back to his winning ways. In 2015 he rode for the continental team Ukyo after  the 2014 fiasco of the Chilean PinoRoad and the demise of Euskaltel-Euskadi. Urtasaun started his career with Kaiku (2005 and 2006) before moving to the Portuguese Liberty (team 2007 and 2008) Then he made the step to the WorldTour with Euskaltel. He did his first pro riding as a stagiaire with CSC in 2003.

His palmares include two stage wins in the Vuelta a Asturias, a stage in the Tour of Britain and one in the Vuelta a Castilla y León. He has done two editions of the Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana and one Giro d'Italia.

Benedito Tadeu Azevedo Junior will keep most of the riders from the current continental team, but also give an opportunity to young riders. In 2015 the roster included Murilo Affonso, José Braga, Otavio Bulgarelli, Flavio Cardoso, Francisco Chamorro, André de Souza Almeida, Daniel Diaz, Alex Diniz, Joao Gaspar, Carlos Manarelli, Lucas Pereira, Roberto Pinheiro, Prado Magno Nazaret, Kleber Ramos, Alan Santos and Douglas Santos.

The best known riders are Ramos (1985) who won a stage at the 2015 Tour de San Luis ahead of Dani Moreno and Nairo Quintana and in the Tour do Rio where he was second behind Gustavo Veloso; Diniz (1985) who was second in a stage of the Tour de San Luis, won a stage and finished third in 2013, and was third in the Tour do Rio; Prado Nazareth (1986), three-time national time trial champion, including 2015, and 2012 Pan American gold medallist; Bulgarelli (1986) who was national champion in 2012 and rode for the Farnese Vini in 2011. Among the young riders, the climber Gaspar (1992) stands out. Meanwhile, Tour de San Luis winner Daniel Diaz will leave the team and join Delko Marseille-Provence KTM.
