Tomasz Nose who has won the Tour of Slovenia twice, has decided to end his career. A nasty injury prevents him from continuing as part of the Adria Mobil team.
When Adria Mobil announced the first nine riders on their 2015 roster, many were surprised by the absence of Tomasz Nose who has been an important rider for the team for several years. The reason has now been revealed: after a 2014 season in which he almost did no racing due to a bad injury, the 32-year-old Slovenian has decided to hang up the bike.
"The reason for my decision to end my career is a serious injury that I sustained last year. Without it, I could have been racing at least for another five years," he says. "I took this decision to avoid having another similar incident, with all the consequences that would have. Even now, I still feel pain when I ride a bike."
Although he has ended his career, the Adria Mobil rider wants to stay close to the world of cycling.
"I'd like to stay in touch with the team in the future and, if possible, to join them on certain occasions. I would like to help them. I have been a cyclist for a long time and you never forget what you lhave earned. I am very attached to this sport. In any case, from now on I'm going to ride just for fun. The days of racing are gone."
Stagiaire with Krka - Telekom in both 2001 and 2002, Nose turned pro in late 2004 with Phonak and remained in the Swiss team for another year. From 2006 until today, he rode for Adria Mobil.
As an amateur Nose won very important races like Palio del Recioto , the GP Tell and the Giro della Valle d'Aosta but as a professional he could not confirm that level, only winning the Tour of Slovenia. However, he has an impressive track record in his home race, with three stage wins and two overall victories.
